Masjid Arrahman has provided marriage celebrant services for the past 5 years now coordinated by His Eminence Sheikh Youssef Nabha the head of office at the Sayyed Fadhlullah Institution in Australia and the Imam at Masjid Arrahman. Sheikh Youssef Nabha is an Authorised Marriage Celebrant.

If you are planning to have your wedding any time soon or possibly in future we would like to address a few points that need to be considered regarding your marriage contract that you intend to do religiously (Aqed Azzawaj) and Civil (Registered at the NSW registry of Births Deaths & Marriages).

1. His Eminence Sheikh Youssef Nabha only performs marriage contracts legally and professionally. That means your marriage will need to be registered at the NSW registry of Births Deaths & Marriages along with the Sheikh performing your religious marriage contract.

2. We take care of all the legal forms of your ceremony.

3. You MUST give at least one calendar month and a day’s notice of your intended marriage.

4. Both the bridegroom and bride must be over the age of 18.

5. A notice of intended marriage form (form 13- regulation 38) needs to be completed as soon as you have notified the office of your intention to marry prior to the date you wish to have your marriage contract. We are required to sight your original birth certificate if you were born in Australia, or your overseas passport if you were born outside Australia as well as photo ID.

6. If either the bridegroom or the bride have previously been married (either overseas or in Australia) we will need to sight the Divorce Certificate and/or if either of your spouses are deceased, their Death Certificates.

7.On the day of signing the marriage contracts the parents must be present, the father of the bride specifically.

8. Witnesses must be over the age of 18 and witnesses could be your mother and father.

The marriage celebrant service at Masjid Arrahman is free of charge.
